Michael Kopech Throws Tuesday
6 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (elbow), who is ranked as the No. 18 prospect in baseball and No. 2 for the White Sox by MLB Pipeline, threw for the first time on Tuesday since having Tommy John surgery last September. The 22-year-old made four starts in the big leagues in 2018 and had a 5.02 ERA with 15 strikeouts and two walks in 14 1/3 innings. Kopech has top-of-the-rotation stuff but will miss all of the 2019 season, so he won't be useful in redraft formats. He should already be owned in all dynasty/keeper leagues and should be in Chicago's rotation to begin the year in 2020.
