Michael Kopech Opts Out Of 2020 Season
5 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn announced on Friday that starting pitcher Michael Kopech has opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. The 24-year-old right-hander has one of the best arms in baseball and was recovering from Tommy John surgery which held him out all of last year. You can obviously cross him off your draft boards for the 2020 season, and the White Sox will continue to work towards developing him for the 2021 season, where he could be a bargain as a sleeper after missing two straight seasons. Chicago's starting rotation this year should be comprised of Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel, Gio Gonzalez, Dylan Cease and Reynaldo Lopez.
