Michael Conforto Goes On Seven-Day Injured List
6 years agoThe New York Mets placed catcher Michael Conforto (concussion) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday and designated outfielder Keon Broxton for assignment in a corresponding move. Outfielder Carlos Gomez and relief pitcher Paul Sewald were also called up from Triple-A Syracuse. Broxton was hitting .143/.208/.163 with the Mets. There's a chance Conforto could miss more than a week, so prepare for that possibility. He needs to be stashed in all leagues, though, as the 26-year-old was hitting .271/.406/.521 with nine homers, 27 runs, 21 RBI and three steals. With Broxton now gone, expect J.D. Davis or Jeff McNeil to mix and match in the outfield alongside Gomez, Juan Lagares and Brandon Nimmo. Gomez might be worth a look in NL-only leagues for power potential.
