Michael Conforto 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Solid Later Power Source
3 days agoThe days of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Michael Conforto threatening 30 home runs are likely behind him. However, last season at age 31, he hit 20 homers and posted some of the best quality of contact metrics of his career: the 45.8% hard-hit rate was a personal best, and the 11.8% barrel rate was second-best. He did so while maintaining solid contact quantity (85% zone, 77% overall). While Conforto only batted .237, his BABIP was 20 points below his career mark, and Statcast thought he was unlucky (.257 xBA). Conforto also gets a significant home venue upgrade, moving from Oracle Park—where he hit just three of his 20 home runs last year—to Dodger Stadium. Statcast park factors rate Oracle 28th for lefty homers (77 score), while his new home has been sixth-best for southpaw power over the last three seasons (116). We do expect Conforto to platoon a fair amount despite hitting same-side pitchers better than righties last year (145 wRC+ to 102). For his career, he has been 28% better than league average versus righties and just below average against fellow lefties (96 wRC+). For 2025 ATC projects, Conforto for a .238/.321/.425 slash line with 19 home runs in 474 PA. Given the park and lineup upgrade, Conforto profiles as a solid fifth outfielder or an early bench bat for fantasy in 2025.
