Mets Interested In Andrew Miller
6 years agoThe New York Mets are interested in free-agent relief pitcher Andrew Miller, according to a source. Miller pitched under Mets manager Mickey Callaway when he was the pitching coach for the Indians. The left-hander's value is down after he suffered multiple injuries in 2018 and threw just 34 innings with a 4.24 ERA and 1.38 WHIP, which were both career-high marks. New York's bullpen ranked 29th out of 30 MLB teams in wins above replacement (WAR) during general manager Sandy Alderson's tenure. If Miller is signed, he has the dominant stuff (when healthy) to be a closer in the big leagues. Closing games would make him much more attractive to fantasy owners.
