Melvin Gordon Is Fresh Entering 2018 Season
6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon stayed away from organized team activities in the spring and altered his preparations for this season in order to stay fresh and healthy. A nagging knee injury slowed him down in 2017. When he began to heal towards the end of the year, Gordon finished as the league's seventh leading rusher with a career-high 1,105 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 58 passes for 476 yards and didn't fumble until the season finale. With his fifth-year option already picked up, Gordon is looking to have a big season and expects to receive a boost from center Mike Pouncey. Gordon should also be utilized more in the passing game in head coach Anthony Lynn's offense, making him a fine pick at the back end of the first round as an RB1.
