Max Scherzer On Track To Start Friday
6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer (rib cage) is on his normal between-starts routine and is on track to start on Friday against the Padres after he twisted his rib cage trying to dodge a ball in the dugout on Sunday. Scherzer had an uncharacteristic clunker against Miami on Saturday, allowing 11 hits and six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings, but he at least helped his owners with nine strikeouts and no walks. It brings his ERA up to an un-Scherzer-like 4.45 on the season after five starts, but he's still struck out 44 hitters against just five walks. He'll be just fine in the long run and should be back in fantasy lineups against SD this weekend.
