Max Muncy Out Until Next Week
5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (wrist) won't play again until next week after being hit by a pitch on his right wrist on Wednesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Muncy is undergoing X-rays and will be examined by a hand specialist. He was also seen in a brace on Thursday. Roberts said that if Muncy's injury is serious, the team will be "a little more aggressive with our September call-ups," which could mean shortstop prospect Gavin Lux, who is hitting .346 with 26 home runs and 76 RBI in 112 games with Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. Muncy is having another great year, hitting .253 with 33 homers and a career-high 87 RBI in 129 games. Fantasy owners must have a backup plan in case they lose him for most of September. Kike Hernandez should benefit the most from more playing time at the keystone in the short term.
