Max Meyer Expected To Join Marlins Soon
5 months agoMiami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said that pitching prospect Max Meyer should be back in the big leagues "here soon." Meyer, the team's No. 2 prospect and No. 84 in all of baseball per MLB Pipeline, went 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA in three starts earlier this season before surprisingly being sent down to the minors after allowing just one run in six innings against the division-rival Atlanta Braves. Edward Cabrera (shoulder) and Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) are both hurt now, and lefty A.J. Puk has been moved back to the bullpen, so there's room in Miami's rotation for Meyer to make his return. Meyer struggled initially after being demoted but has "gotten back on track" in his last three outings. The Fish are trying to protect the young hurler after he had Tommy John surgery in 2022, but with his potential return to the big leagues on the horizon, fantasy managers will want to swoop on him if he's available on the waiver wire.
