Matthew Boyd Allows Two Runs Over 7 1/3 Innings
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd was solid again on Sunday against the Oakland Athletics. He pitched 7 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, one walk and two earned runs while striking out five. He allowed his first home run of the year in the game when Sean Murphy hit a solo shot in the eighth inning. Through four starts this year, Boyd has a 2.03 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. He should be rostered in all leagues at this point as he looks to be on the verge of a big bounce-back year after a rough 2020 season. His next start will be on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals.
