6 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels non-tendered starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker on Friday, making him a free agent. Shoemaker has appeal when healthy but has missed significant time the last two seasons with forearm issues and needed surgery in 2018. The right-hander had a 4.94 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and career-high 9.6 K/9 in just seven starts (31 innings) this past season. He can be an asset to a starting rotation when healthy, but it'll depend on where he lands and how healthy he is entering the 2019 season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
