Matt Olson Injures Hand In Japan
6 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson left the 12-inning loss to the Mariners on Thursday in Japan in the sixth inning with right hand pain, and he will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Oakland. He said that the injury likely occurred when he fouled off a slider in the fifth inning. Olson won his first Gold Glove last year while hitting 29 home runs and ranking among the league leaders in hard-hit rate, per Statcast. The A's don't play their home opener until a week from now, so hopefully Olson can heal by then. His power stroke puts him in play in all fantasy leagues.
