Matt Moore Has Season-Ending Surgery
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Moore underwent surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee on Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season after more damage was found than expected. It's a shame, as the left-hander had thrown 10 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in his only two starts before the injury. The 29-year-old will be hoping for another bounce-back season in 2020, but fantasy owners won't be holding out much hope for him. Daniel Norris might see more starts than imagined this year as a result, but he's a weak fantasy option best left for those in AL-only formats. It's possible that pitching prospects Casey Mize or Matt Manning could see time in the rotation as well.
