Matt Manning Allows Three Runs Over Five Innings
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning had a middling outing against the Chicago White Sox on Monday. He pitched five innings and allowed four hits, three walks and three earned runs while striking out two. He was left with a no decision in the game. The rookie right-hander had one of the best starts of his young career in his previous outing before this one. He held the Milwaukee Brewers to one run over six innings last Wednesday. Manning has had some solid starts over the past few months, but he's also had some awful games, like when he allowed eight earned runs against the Oakland Athletics in his first start of September. Manning will take a 5.73 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP into his next start against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.
