Matt Magill Dealing With Shoulder Discomfort
5 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Matt Magill (shoulder) is being held back after feeling shoulder discomfort prior to camp. However, Magill said the injury is minor and he threw a bullpen session on Tuesday without issues. The right-hander finished 2019 as the team's closer and is a leading candidate for the same role this season. Barring any setbacks, Magill has enough time to be ready for Opening Day. Yoshihisa Hirano and Sam Tuivailala are the ones lurking if Magill misses any time due to an injury during the season or is demoted from the role for poor performance. Magill's job security won't be very high, so he'll be one of the weaker fantasy closing options late in drafts in deep mixed leagues.
