5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday. Yairo Munoz will start at third and hit leadoff against Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez, who will be making his first start in the big leagues this season. Carp has just never found a groove all season. He's hitting .188 (3-for-16) with five K's and one RBI in the last week and only .222 with nine long balls and 22 RBI on the season on the whole in 263 plate appearances. Stick it out and hope that he heats up this summer. Munoz is hitting a healthy .288/.302/.346 with no homers and just two RBI in his 52 at-bats.
