5 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams (oblique) and Ryan Zimmerman (foot) both took full swings in batting practice on Thursday. Adams tweaked his oblique on Monday and has been out since, while Zimmerman has been on the injured list since April 28 with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Manager Dave Martinez said Adams is "good," and it's unlikely he'll land on the injured list. Zimmerman was also scheduled to run on a treadmill on Thursday and could be cleared to go on a rehab assignment soon. When both are healthy, they form a platoon at first base, with Adams the more attractive power bat in deep mixed and NL-only leagues when he faces right-handed pitching.
