5 years agoWashington Nationals manager Dave Martinez said that first baseman Matt Adams (oblique) is available off the bench on Friday. Adams hasn't played since tweaking his oblique on Monday, but it seems as though he'll avoid a trip to the injured list and he could be back on Saturday. Howie Kendrick is at first base and is batting fifth on Friday against Diamondbacks left-handed starter Robbie Ray. Adams, a left-handed hitter, likely would've been sitting this game regardless. Kendrick has been a huge success story for the Nats this year and continues to play regularly, hitting .323/.370/.585 with 11 homers, 34 runs, 40 RBI and a steal on the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
