Mason Miller Looks To Repeat Dominance in 2025
1 day agoReliever Mason Miller will enter the 2025 season as the Athletics' unquestioned closer and one of the best closers in the game. Miller was moved to the bullpen in the spring of 2024, which paid immediate dividends for the team. The righthander posted two wins, 28 saves, a 2.49 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP, and 104 strikeouts in 65 innings. There have been some pundits questioning his role in 2025, but there doesn't seem to be any team discussion about moving Miller back to the rotation. Miller had a whopping 41.8%K%, which was in the 100th percentile in all of MLB. His average fastball velocity was 100.9 MPH, good for the 100th percentile as well. Look for Miller to continue his dominance for the Athletics this year as there is no reason to think he will slump in 2025. Miller could be one of the first five closers off the board in drafts this spring. If not top five, he will be a top ten closer pick.
