5 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed infielder/outfielder Marwin Gonzalez (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a right hamstring strain and recalled catcher Willians Astudillo from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move. Gonzalez was hitting .255/.323/.420 with 11 doubles, nine home runs and 26 RBI in 63 games before his injury. The Twins were finding him regular playing time even with Miguel Sano back in action. Astudillo hit .250 with two homers and 11 RBI in 112 at-bats before being demoted on June 8. He hit .526 (20-for-38) with three long balls, 11 RBI, 10 runs and a 1.288 OPS in nine games on the farm but might just be a utility option for the Twins with Mitch Garver and Jason Castro handling catching duties.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
