Martavis Bryant Struggling To Pick Up Playbook
6 years agoFormer Oakland Raiders wide receiver James Jones said on NFL Network that wide receiver Martavis Bryant is struggling to learn the team's playbook after talking to offensive coordinator Greg Olson. “They’ve only got him lining up in one spot to try to slow it down and help him out,” Jones said. “They need him to pick it up.” Head coach Jon Gruden said recently that Bryant has been a disappointment so far in training camp. Add in the fact that Bryant could be facing a suspension and he's looking like a player to potentially avoid in fantasy drafts. The 26-year-old has a lot of deep-ball potential as a field stretcher, but he's been inconsistent in his three seasons with the Steelers and hasn't caught more than 50 passes, although he does have 17 touchdowns in 36 games. It's looking like he's No. 3 behind Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson in this offense.
