6 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers would like to use wide receiver Marquise Goodwin similar to how head coach Kyle Shanahan used Taylor Gabriel in his time with the Falcons as offensive coordinator. Gabriel averaged 16.5 yards per catch with Shanahan. The Niners believe Goodwin loses some value with his speed if he's on the field for too many snaps each game. Many pegged a breakout season for Goodwin in 2018, but he struggled with injuries and disappointed with 23 catches for 395 yards and four touchdowns in just 11 games played. His speed isn't going away, though, and he could be more productive and efficient with less playing time, although it'll also make him more of a boom/bust fantasy option.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
