1 year agoThe Miami Marlins are interested in Detroit Tigers All-Star right-hander Michael Lorenzen with the Aug. 1 trade deadline quickly approaching. The Baltimore Orioles have also been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Lorenzen, who will surely be dealt by Tuesday because of the fact that he will be a free agent after the 2023 season. The Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays are two other teams that could make sense for Lorenzen, who is having a fine season with a 3.58 ERA (3.89 FIP), 1.09 WHIP, 27 walks and 83 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings pitched over his 18 starts in Detroit. In four starts in July, he's allowed just three earned runs on 13 hits while walking seven and fanning 21 in 23 2/3 frames.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
