Marlins Haven't Been Pursuing Nick Castellanos
3 years agoFree-agent outfielder Nick Castellanos had plenty of interest in signing with the Miami Marlins before the lockout, but the Marlins have not been aggressively pursuing him, according to a source. The Florida native hit .309 with 34 home runs and 100 RBI with the Cincinnati Reds in 2021, but he's yet to find a home on the open market. The Reds, who have been shedding payroll since the lockout was lifted, haven't had discussions to bring the 30-year-old slugger back. The Marlins, another small-market club, haven't shown much interest in the All-Star, which is a big reason why Derek Jeter surprisingly stepped down recently. Regardless of where Castellanos lands, he should be very attractive to fantasy managers as one of the best all-around hitters in the game.
