Marlins Calling Up Reliever Sean Reynolds
1 year agoThe Miami Marlins are calling up right-handed pitching prospect Sean Reynolds from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, according to a source. Reynolds is a former hitter that was converted to a pitcher, and he was dominating in the minors so far this year with a 2.66 ERA, 11 saves and 47 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings for Double-A Pensacola and Jacksonville to earn his first major-league call-up. The 25-year-old will be making his big-league debut if he gets into a game during this weekend's series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Miami's No. 23 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, stands at an imposing 6-foot-8 and combines a high-90s fastball with a changeup and slider. Reynolds probably won't have any fantasy value right away.
