Marlins Calling Up Jordan Groshans
2 years agoThe Miami Marlins will select infielder Jordan Groshans' contract from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of the team's game on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies, according to sources. Groshans, the team's No. 12 prospect per MLB Pipeline, was hitting .301/.399/.416 with an .814 OPS, two home runs, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base in 31 games for Jacksonville to earn the call-up. The 22-year-old was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays at the trade deadline early last month. The former first-rounder is worth picking up down the stretch in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, as he should see enough playing time the rest of the way to contribute in those formats. Groshans has recently become more of a hit over power guy, and he hit just three long balls in 103 combined game with Jacksonville, Triple-A Buffalo and Single-A Dunedin.
