Marlins Acquire Adam Cimber, DFA Jose Urena
4 years agoThe Miami Marlins acquired sidearm reliever Adam Cimber from the Cleveland Indians on Monday in exchange for $100,000. In a corresponding move, the Marlins designated right-hander Jose Urena for assignment. Urena was the team's Opening Day starter in 2018 and 2019 and spent six seasons with the club, but he went 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA in five starts last season. He's projected to earn around $4 million in 2021. Cimber was 0-1 with a 3.97 ERA in 14 outings for Cleveland in 2020 after he was acquired from the Padres in 2018 in the deal involving All-Star closer Brad Hand. Cimber was 6-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 110 appearances over 2 1/2 seasons with the Tribe.
