Mark Canha Likely To Return After All-Star Break
3 years agoOakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that outfielder Mark Canha (hip) would return to the team on Friday, but it will be a stretch to expect him to be activated from the injured list before the All-Star break. Canha recently received platelet-rich plasma injections in both of his hips after going on the injured list on June 25 with a right hip strain. The 32-year-old needs to remain owned in all fantasy leagues, as he was hitting .255/.375/.450 with 11 home runs, 55 runs scored, 33 RBI and seven stolen bases in 271 at-bats this season. He was pretty good in June, too, slashing .269/.345/.423 with a homer, 18 RBI and 13 runs scored in 20 games. Tony Kemp should continue to benefit from more playing time and the occasional leadoff role for the A's.
