3 years agoThe Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Mark Canha (hip) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a left hip strain. Infielder Vimael Machin was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Canha suffered the hip injury in Thursday's ball game. He's produced well for the A's and fantasy managers this year, batting .255/.375/.450 with 12 doubles, a league-leading four triples, 11 home runs, 55 runs scored, 33 RBI and a career-high-tying seven stolen bases in 74 games (325 plate appearances). His placement on the injured list will further cement Tony Kemp's spot in the starting lineup, and he'll have even more short-term value in the leadoff spot for Oakland. This will be Machin's second stint with the A's, and he'll primarily serve as infield depth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
