Mariners Claim Adam Oller Off Waivers From A's
1 year agoThe Seattle Mariners claimed right-hander Adam Oller off waivers from the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday after he was recently placed on outright waivers by Oakland. Oller will get another shot with a new team, but he'll remain in the American League West. The 28-year-old reliever allowed a whopping 24 runs (22 earned) on 29 hits (five homers surrendered) while walking 12 and striking out 13 in 19 2/3 innings over nine outing (one start) this year in his second big-league season with the A's to get the boot off the roster. He wasn't very good at Triple-A Las Vegas, either, with a rough 7.11 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 24 walks and 59 strikeouts in 50 2/3 frames covering 12 appearances (nine starts). Oller will strictly represent minor-league pitching depth in Seattle.
