Mariners Calling Up Jake Fraley
5 years agoThe Seattle Mariners are calling up outfield prospect Jake Fraley, their No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline, according to a source. The 24-year-old is expected to be part of the team's long-term future in the outfield, and he should get a chance to play regularly right off the bat. Due to injuries to Mitch Haniger, Braden Bishop and Domingo Santana, Tim Lopes, Austin Nola and Dylan Moore have been splitting time in left field. Fraley has experience in center field and is a plus defender. He was hitting an impressive .298/.365/.545 with a career-high 19 home runs and 80 RBI at Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma combined. With excellent plate discipline and improving power, Fraley could make an immediate impact in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
