Mariners Call Up Pitching Prospect Matt Brash
3 years agoThe Seattle Mariners called up pitching prospect Matt Brash on Tuesday. There's speculation that he could be used as a tandem starter behind Tyler Anderson for Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Anderson is pitching on short rest for the game. The 23-year-old Brash is the team's No. 10 ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline. He was acquired in a trade with the San Diego Padres last year and he has yet to pitch in the majors. Over 20 games (19 starts) split between High-A and Double-A this year, he's pitched to a 2.31 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP while averaging 13.1 K/9.
