Marcus Stroman Wants Long-Term Deal
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is disappointed he hasn't come to a long-term contract extension with the club. Stroman had the worst season of his career in 2018 and dealt with injuries, going 4-9 with a career-high 5.54 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 6.8 K/9 in only 19 starts (102 1/3 innings). The 27-year-old right-hander has never been much of a strikeout artist and relies on keeping the ball down in a hitter-friendly environment in the toughest division in baseball. He'd be much better off for fantasy purposes if he was traded to another team. Stroman will be more of a matchup-based pitcher in AL-only leagues for 2019.
