2 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (hand) left Monday's contest against the Kansas City Royals early after a pitch hit his hand while up to bat. However, after the game, his X-rays came back negative, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports. According to manager Bob Melvin, he'll be re-evaluated on Tuesday, but this is still positive news. Machado's in the middle of a down season at the plate, posting a .231/.282/.372 slash line with five homers, 18 runs, 19 RBI, and two steals across 40 games. Fantasy managers should consider the 30-year-old day-to-day, but hopefully, he comes back soon and better than ever.--Spencer Seguin
