Manny Machado 2025 Player Outlook: Four-Category Value In Top Tier Of Position
12 mins agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado had another strong fantasy season in 2024, slashing .275/.325/.472 with 29 home runs, 77 runs scored, 105 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 643 plate appearances. As always, the 32-year-old provided plenty of power with an average exit velocity and hard-hit-rate in the top 10 percent of baseball. He hit the ball on average 1.5 MPH harder than in 2023, which pulled his .302 BABIP closer to his career average and helped supplement his batting average. The Padres were not in a position to spend money on free agents this off-season, but Machado should be able to provide strong HR and RBI counts with a decent run total given their projected lineup. Machado is currently being drafted as the 38th player off the board, making him the fifth 3B off the board. He is currently the last in a tier of four 3B before a significant drop-off and has the longest track record of consistency among them. This could make him a relative value for fantasy managers looking to fill their 3B spot relatively early in 2025 drafts.
