Luka Doncic Missing Second Night Of Back-To-Back
6 months agoDallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (quad) will catch a breather and sit out on Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves during the second night of the team's back-to-back. The Mavs suffered a fourth-quarter collapse in Wednesday's home loss to the injury-ravaged Cleveland Cavaliers, but it came by no fault of their franchise cornerstone. Doncic supplied 39 points with three triples, two steals, and two blocks in the defeat, trailing only Joel Embiid in points per game (33.7) and ranking third in average assists (9.2) on the campaign. The MVP candidate hopes to suit up for Saturday's showdown against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco. With Doncic joining Kyrie Irving (heel) on the shelf for Thursday, the backcourt reins are left to Dante Exum, Jaden Hardy, and Seth Curry as Dallas' primary floor generals. Volume scorer Tim Hardaway Jr. should be the squad's primary scoring option against Minnesota.
