Luis Garcia Jr. Sinks Mets With Two Homers
3 days agoWashington Nationals second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. had a big day at the dish during Wednesday night's win over the division-rival New York Mets, belting his eighth and ninth home runs of the year. Before adding some insurance in the eighth inning with a solo homer, Garcia hit a three-run jack in the sixth inning to bring the Nationals within one run and send Mets rookie right-hander Christian Scott to the showers. Although Garcia functions as Washington's everyday man at the keystone, the 24-year-old infielder has limited fantasy appeal while hitting .261 (71-for-272) with nine big flies, 40 RBI, and 11 stolen bases through 75 outings this season. He's more of an option for those in NL-only leagues.
