Luis Arraez Tallies Three-Hit Game In Loss To Cardinals
1 year agoMiami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez continues to hit, as he went 3-for-5 in the 3-0 loss to the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Arraez had three of the team's nine hits on the day and is now batting .388 on the year with a .917 OPS. The 26-year-old Venezuelan hitting machine has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games and is batting an absurd .418 (33-for-79) with two home runs, three triples, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in his last 19 games since June 16. It's going to be extremely difficult to hit .400 this year, but if anyone can do it, it would be Arraez. He's added three home runs, 18 doubles, a league-high 124 hits, 41 RBI and 40 runs scored in 83 games in his first year in Miami. Arraez's .388 average leads all of baseball by a wide margin, and he also has a league-high .439 on-base percentage.
