Luis Arraez Has Two Hits In Marlins Debut
2 years agoMiami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with an RBI, double, run scored and one strikeout in the 5-3 loss to the New York Mets on Opening Day on Thursday in his debut with the team. Arraez didn't disappoint out of the leadoff spot in his first game for the Fish, and he should be an excellent table-setter for the team in 2023. The 25-year-old won the American League batting crown with the Minnesota Twins in 2022 by slashing .316/.375/.420 with a .795 OPS, eight home runs, 49 RBI, 88 runs scored and four stolen bases in 603 plate appearances and 144 games. Arraez doesn't have much speed or power, but he'll be great for average, on-base percentage and runs scored.
