Luis Arraez 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Looking To Win Fourth Straight Batting Title
8 mins agoSan Diego Padres infielder Luis Arraez (thumb) has won the batting title three straight years and is looking to make it four consecutive titles in 2025. The 27-year-old slashed .314/.346/.392 with four home runs, 46 RBI, 83 runs, and nine stolen bases over 672 plate appearances. He underwent surgery in October to repair a ligament in his left thumb but is expected to be fully recovered heading into spring training. The three-time batting champ signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Padres to avoid arbitration. He is expected to be San Diego's leadoff hitter in a potent lineup that includes Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Jackson Merrill, and Xander Bogaerts. Arraez doesn't contribute much in other categories outside of batting average and runs, making him a better option in points or OBP leagues. ATC is projecting Arraez to lead the majors with a .309 batting average again in 2025 and to chip in with 81 runs while posting 114 wRC+ across 642 plate appearances. Arraez currently has an NFBC ADP of 178.57, but pending your team's build, he's mainly an option if your team needs help with batting average and runs.
