Lourdes Gurriel Dealing With Knee Discomfort
5 years agoToronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Lourdes Gurriel (knee) left the game early on Wednesday against the Royals with right knee discomfort. The 25-year-old went hitless in two plate appearances but managed a walk and stolen base before leaving. Gurriel started the year off slow and was demoted to the minors, but he has bounced back considerably and is hitting .289/.341/.571 with 18 home runs, 47 runs, 45 RBI and six steals in 290 plate appearances for Toronto. Hopefully this is just a day-to-day type of injury and he can return to the lineup soon. If Gurriel is forced to miss time, Billy McKinney figures to be the main beneficiary of playing time in the outfield.
