3 years agoOakland Athletics closer Lou Trivino (back) is expected to be available out of the bullpen for Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers, according to Athletics manager Bob Melvin. Trivino has been sidelined for about a week due to a back injury. He's dealt with back spasms for the past few days, but the injury appears to be subsiding. While he's been out, both Sergio Romo and Andrew Chafin have earned saves for the team. With Trivino back, he should slip right back into the closing role for the team as Romo and Chafin continue working in setup roles. Trivino has had a strong season, pitching to a 2.55 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP while converting 21 of his 25 save opportunities.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
