Liam Hendriks Has Scoreless Rehab Outing
2 years agoChicago White Sox relief pitcher Liam Hendriks made his first minor-league rehab appearance on Friday for Triple-A Charlotte and tossed a scoreless and hitless inning while striking out one batter. After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January, Hendriks is now cancer-free and on the verge of making his season debut for the White Sox after he completes his rehab assignment on the farm. The White Sox will likely want him to make back-to-back appearances for Charlotte before he's activated from the injured list, but Hendriks could rejoin the team's bullpen sooner than later. When he's back, the 34-year-old right-hander is fully expected to operate as Chicago's primary closer, so he needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues.
