2 years agoChicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said that relief pitcher Liam Hendriks (illness) has at least three minor-league rehab outings left before he's activated from the injured list for his 2023 debut. He will make back-to-back appearances for Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday and Thursday, then take two days off, and pitch again on Sunday. The White Sox will re-evaluate him after that. The 34-year-old is cancer-free after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma early in the year, and he should eventually reclaim his role as the club's primary closer when he's ready. So far in the minors during his rehab, he's given up a run in two innings of work. If Hendriks is available on your league's waiver wire, scoop him up now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
