Le'Veon Bell, James Conner To Form Committee?
6 years agoThe emergence of Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner could allow the team to ease Le'Veon Bell back into things following the team's Week 7 bye against the Browns. Bell got off to a slow start last year after his holdout early in the year, and he's also worried about his overall workload as he tries to remain healthy for free agency in 2019. The Steelers could ease Bell back in and eventually have him and Conner splitting work evenly in a timeshare. “That would be awesome. That’s probably what he wants and that’s probably a good thing for both sides of the team. But we’ll see how it plays out. You never know until the situation comes," center Maurkice Pouncey said. Conner ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 75 yards in the Week 5 win over the Falcons, so he's proven more than capable that he can hold down the fort. However, Bell's fantasy owners would rather see Bell lead this backfield in carries once he returns. Conner also leads the league in 32 missed tackles forced, according to Pro Football Focus, and is averaging 4.1 yards per carry and 10.7 yards per catch. Those that own Conner may get some use out of him even after Bell returns.
