Lance McCullers Jr. Not Rushing His Rehab
6 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (elbow), who will miss the entire 2019 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on Nov. 6, said he will take longer with his rehab process since time is on his side. He is targeting being ready in time for the start of spring training in 2020 and is currently working on arm-extension exercises and strengthening his shoulder. The right-hander has a ton of talent and went 10-6 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 10.0 K/9 in 25 games (22 starts) for the Astros last season, but injuries have always held him back in his four seasons. His price will be down heading into 2020 drafts in a year, so there could be a nice value to be had.
