Kyle Rudolph Expects Vikes To Remain Run-First Team
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph thinks what we've seen from them in the first three games is what they will continue to be throughout the 2019 season. "That’s the kind of offense that coach Mike Zimmer wants to have, that’s the kind of mentality that we’ve had success with in the past. We run the football, we play good defense, we change field position on special teams and we win games in the fourth quarter," Rudolph said. Not only does Rudolph have only four catches on six targets for 20 yards in three games, but rookie Irv Smith Jr. is breathing down his neck for a bigger role. All of Minnesota's pass-catchers, including Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, have lower ceilings as a result of the heavy run-first approach. Rudolph has become an unenticing low-end TE2 at this point.
