Kyle Gibson Recovered From Illness
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kyle Gibson (illness) said he's pretty much recovered from e-coli issues he dealt with recently and feels that he'll be ready for Opening Day. The 31-year-old put up his best season in the majors in 2018, going 10-13 with a 3.62 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and career-high 8.2 K/9 in 32 starts (196 2/3 innings). Walks continue to be an issue for him, though, and he posted a career-high 3.6 BB/9 last year. His FIP of 4.13 shows that he was unfortunate and his numbers last year could easily be his ceiling. Gibson is a late-round flier for rotation depth in deep mixed leagues, at best.
