Kris Bryant Hit By Pitch, Leaves Game
6 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (wrist) left the game early on Tuesday after being hit in the left wrist by a pitch. Infielder/outfielder Ian Happ replaced Bryant at third base. Bryant was hitless in two plate appearances with a strikeout before he left the game. He's had really bad luck with injuries this year, mainly a shoulder ailment that kept him out for an extended period in the middle of the season. His counting stats have suffered as a result (12 home runs, 49 RBI) despite his solid average (.276) in 442 at-bats. The Cubs can ill-afford another absence from Bryant as they try to hang on to the Central division with the Brewers breathing down their necks.
