Kolten Wong Not Expected To Be Out Long
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong (hamstring) is dealing with a "relatively mild strain" of his left hamstring, according to general manager Michael Girsch. The Cardinals don't expect Wong to need much more than the next week to heal and are optimistic that he can return to the field on or around Sept. 5, which is the first day he's eligible to come off the disabled list. The Cardinals could mix and match at the keystone with Greg Garcia, Yairo Munoz, Jedd Gyorko and Matt Carpenter with Wong out. Wong has mostly been an NL-only commodity this year, hitting .244 with eight home runs, 32 RBI and six stolen bases.
